2020 Memorable Photos
2020 has been a very difficult, yet memorable year for many of us...photographers included. With limited opportunities to travel and take photos in a variety of settings, I have, however, managed to cobble together a number of photographs taken during the year that I have identified as memorable for year 2020. This year's photo memories started with my March visit to Selma, Alabama's 55th Annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee; nine of the included photographs were taken during this occasion. The rest of the photos are a mix of nature, family, and moments of sadness due to the Covid-19 death of Kious Kelly, a young man who was raised with our sons. Some of you may recall that his death among N.Y.C.'s first health care providers received a great deal of national media attention. I made a video in his honor (https://vimeo.com/414999495). The passing of our beloved neighbor and friend, Wayne Lesher, a much decorated bombardier in World War Two came just after the neighbors gave him a surprise 97th birthday party was yet another loss to us. Additionally , the passing of one of my best friends, and jazz partner, Dr. Jonas Chenault , created a missing piece in my life. Several of the photos were taken in 2019, but I forgot to include them in that year's "Photo Favorites" collection. Enjoy your viewing, and hopefully 2021 will be a safe and healthy year for all. Merry Christmas & Happy Kwanzaa.
