South African Art 2023

During my second visit to South Africa in February/March of this year I decided to take photos of the art of Johannesburg and Capetown. What I observed was a plethora of art everywhere I traveled. I was particularly interested in observing the public art in spaces designated by local governments to artists . As commercial art was prevalent almost every where I journeyed , the more creative art caught my attention as well…from the very simple to the very complex, these two major South African cities are awashed in art, from paintings to sculpture, along with community art studios to art on buildings…it's all present in Johannesburg and Capetown !
